Gambling vs Investing
(edited transcript) … I think there’s a lot of parallels between gambling and the market, not fundamentally but just because of the greed and idiocy of people. But I meet the guy whose house is bigger than a casino in Vegas, who made it in gambling, then maybe I’ll believe you. Right? Last I checked, banks, insurance companies, gambling halls, they all had pretty big buildings. Nice buildings, you know, so odds are tilted in their favor pretty strongly, whatever the case may be. You need to be ready to stay the course. We were just talking about how, you know, gamblers, you do have better success than others, come heavily bankrolled to go through the tough times. I guess maybe that’s a good planning parallel to being an investor where you better have a plan for if things don’t play out in the time frame you want. Or if the market does go sideways at the same time, you might be in some personal hardship. Give things the time to get to where they should ultimately go given the resiliency of the market. But may not go right when you need them to.
