Relationships Matter
(edited transcript) … so your question is when things may go back to quote-unquote normal here as we approach the five year anniversary of Covid. For me has been a big takeaway that probably wouldn’t initially strike people as some huge epiphany, but I do think we lost sight of it is that relationship matters. I think so much of the struggle, clearly there was a lot of loss at that time, confusion, angst that we really weren’t in relationship with one another. And as I think about that as a lesson moving forward, it’s been a huge part of us here at Ten Capital is that relationships do matter. People matter. Investing in them matters. It isn’t just something that goes into the subconscious that we agree with when someone brings it up, but really is actively guiding how I approach my personal lives, relationships, how we are approaching our professional relationships that we’re really taking the time to get to know people, invest in them. As far as the macro goes, I think the quicker we get back to that, whether it’s coming into the office together and being around each other and sharing in each other’s lives or whatever other ways may be more like they were pre-pandemic, probably the closer we get back to what I think we’re really longing, which is that sense of connection.
