Expensive Toys

A simple, and seemingly obvious but oft-ignored, piece of investing advice is don’t buy toys that cost more than you make—especially with debt. Fancy cars, trucks, boats, trading cards/NFT's (not a true investment as a general rule) can have their place, but not when you are ignoring securing your future or leveraging your present to obtain them. Those are rewards at the end of a journey, or as a result of disciplined savings, and are not to be decided upon lightly.
